Fan Friday #3

Dying my hair yet again!! (AKA, yesterday's purple attempt failed miserably, so I'm going back and touching up with Manic Panic). I thought I'd give Splat! dye a chance (since it comes with bleach AND dye), but obviously I shouldn't have wasted my money. It hardly made any difference (but the bleach it comes with is great!). :P So, obviously my first favorite would be...

Manic panic dye! Since it actually works... I also love Beyond the Zone and Punky Colors.

This amazing owl tattoo!! The receiver had this to say: "My third and possibly my favorite tattoo done by my cousin Herm at Skillz Hip Hop Shop in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico. The eyes and beak glow under a black light!"

The Perks of Being a Wallflower. I read it this week and it was just fantastic! It's right up there in my favorite books list, now.

This adorable comic! The whole site is funny. Source

I. Love. Donuts.

These AMAZING Harry Potter themed nails! So much detail! I wish I knew the source...

This shot. It's so artsy. And her hair and the tattoo look great.

This photo from our flour shoot. So much fun.

How was your week? What are your plans for the weekend?

PicSpam 01!

Again, Zoe never ceases to amaze me with her fun photography. She catches some moments that I don't want to easily forget. And how can I when they are cataloged like this! <3

Tommmm. I'm especially grateful since I don't have a proper camera of my own right now. :(

pffft.

sittin on the bench... bein awkward.

BLAM!

Walkin around... being awkward is what we do best.

I'm dying my hair right now, so I'm especially glad pictures of my pink and blue hair are available. The next color is purple fading to pink. I'm really excited! Pictures will definitely be posted.

What are you up to?

Frolicking and Flour

So, I believe I've mentioned my dear friend (and soon-to-be roommate) Zoe Burchard is an avid photographer. Though I've neglected to mention that I often model (ameteur-ly) for her (and others), and just for the sheer fun of it.

This last Sunday was a photoshoot day, and probably the last before Zoe leaves for Chicago. The prompts? Adele's music video for Rolling in the Deep => wear black clothing and dance around in flour. Three other girls and myself took on the challenge with some satisfying results. Here are some of the first few pictures that Zoe released, just as a bit of a sneak peek. :)

...And yours truly! ^^^

Zoe's shoots are always a lot of fun (albeit a bit painful and messy and times). <3

Fan Friday #2

<a href="http://www.bloglovin.com/blog/2776532/awkward-royalty-and-the-road-to-jupiter?claim=s8sf45vf9fc">Follow my blog with Bloglovin</a>

Oh goodness... a week without blogging? For shame, Esther, for shame!! I really would blog more often if I (A.) knew where the camera I use went and/or (B.) Owned a better camera.... maybe I'll just go out and get a toy camera. xP
Well, in any case, here's Fan Friday #2.

This awesome-as-heck comic. Check out her art style! So dynamic and colorful and AWESOME.

Watermelon art! Crazy detailed and so cool....

Look at all these adorable accessories!! I want them... and I'm betting they're put together by hand!

I wish I could link back to the photographer, but this is just something that's been going around tumblr.... I love it, though. So dainty.

This came from dollamoe 's flickr. I just love it! Too cute. <3

This image of Matthew Lewis and Tom Felton. (Ruth and I's favorite actors from the HP films) I love it so much, I'm actually painting a watercolor version. <3 Will post when it's complete!

Futurama! It's my favorite American cartoon right now. <3 I got the first season at Half-Price Books and sometimes I'll watch it online (we don't have television at home).

Tom Felton in general. (I can't handle him hnnngh.)

This Ciel Phantomhive cosplay. <3 Just too perfect to be true!!

"The On-Time Wall Clock gives you three more minutes than you thought you had at first glance. It was designed by Diamantini & Domeniconi."
My dear friend Kayla posted this on her tumblr. Pretty clever!

That's all for Fan Friday #2!! Now if you'll excuse me, I have to bus all the way to Bellevue for an appointment... (and hopefully some figure purchasing *u*)

Fan Friday #1

My first ever Fan Friday! I saw a lot of other blogs doing something like this, but not always on Friday. I guess Friday works really well with positive words. It's just ten things I find really awesome! :)

I know it's a bit hard to see, but if you click here, you'll get taken to the cutest soundboard on the internet! It's My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic themed. All the characters with speaking roles are represented!

Smooth Jazz Nyan Cat!! I've loved Nyan Cat since it first swept the internet, but this one is much easier to sing along to. :)

This gif. It's kind of a spoiler for the new HP movie, but since everyone's raving about this moment, it's hardly a spoiler for me to post it on my 1-follower blog. |D

This cosplay photo! You can find the deviantART user here

These dresses from this Etsy user. They're so cute and such a good price!! I want one...

This deviantART print. It's so pretty. I think it'd make a great tattoo. You can find it here. I hope she makes it available for sale.

This figure! My god, she's so gorgeous. I simply must have her!! Kind of pricy, but she looks so high quality... Maybe if I can get someone to split the price with me, I'll preorder her. :3 What a great face~

This deviantART print featuring all the Disney heroines!! They're so cute and so accurate!! All my favorites are there. :) Alice, Esmerelda, Meg, Rapunzel, Belle.... Most of my favorites aren't included in Disney merchandise, so I love seeing this compilation. The artist is here

This fantastic DIY project. It's such a cute idea and it doesn't have to be just for a wedding. :) It makes a great present for anyone and it's way easy + cheap to make.

I hope you enjoyed my first Fan Friday. :) Visit the links and support some artists!

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

Well, that was an emotional roller coaster!!

After dressing and packing in a hurry, Ruth (dressed as Hermione) and I (dressed as a nerdy Ravenclaw complete with fake freckles) arrived at our destination to line up for the IMAX 3-D experience around 7:00. The line was already wrapped around one wall!! So we ran to our post and camped out. We started snacking and reading and crafting gifts for our friends as we waited.
Ruthie crafts a Hufflepuff bracelet for Maddy.

Around 8:30, our friends Kayla, and Maddy showed up to wait with us. :) We joked around and some of us made friends with other costumed movie-goers (including a particularly kind Umbridge).

Maddy with our tickets!! +u+

Ruth's friend dressed as Tonks.

Umbridge with some students.

Kayla hiding under a make-shift invisibility cloak.

They seated us at 10:30, and we got some fairly good seats to the side. I was a bit nervous about it, but the 3-D worked out just fine. It was a great film, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It made a great finale to the Harry Potter epic. :) Although... what was up with the villians exploding? That never happened in HP before... haha. I do wish the epilogue had been just a tad longer, and parts of the Voldemort/Harry fight a tad shorter, but all in all I really have no legitimate complaints. :) Of course, I was depending on my rock-hard exterior to save me from crying during the movie (I don't cry easily), but of course I was a complete mess halfway through.

Puffy eyes and delirious smiles after the film.

Packing up and bein emotional.

I stayed the night at Kayla's and started watching The Breakfast Club for the first time. It was nice to stay at her place since I haven't visited in a while. :) Shout out to Kayla! I need to put her in The Court. haha. She put together a cute tumblr post summarizing the truth of our situation. She gave me a super awesome gift, too!! I am forever thankful.
The HP poster they handed out and my gift!!

A vintage Star Wars Laserdisc!! How cool is that? I'm not sure what I could do with it, but it's awesome!! :3 What a great Value Village find.

Have you seen the movie yet? What did you think?

Gift Doodles

Remus, Snape, Hermione, and Luna

Since HP is such a big franchise, I'm a bit worried about my art getting stolen. I know it's a bit silly to watermark characters that aren't mine... but, better safe than sorry!

Harry Potter character doodles for my friends! x) We'll be attending the HP7.2 premiere tomorrow night! I'm really excited. We get to watch it in glorious IMAX 3-D. I made these pieces as celebratory friendship/awesomeness cards. They've been cut out and laminated, and my friends can decide what they want to do with theirs. :> I want to make myself a Draco one soon!!
Harry Potter is a wonderful story that has been with me since I was a kid. Everyone in my generation grew up with Harry Potter.... Now, it almost seems as if it is finally ending just as our childhood is ending too. It's a sad thought, but that's the way it is for many of us. However, I aim to have as much fun as possible during the premiere, and not be sad about it until the very end!!

I'll definitely be talking all about the premiere on Friday. (No spoilers, I promise!!)
I've decided to dub Fridays as "Fan Fridays," where I can post about all the nerdy, adorable, and awesome things I came across during the week. :> It can be anything from art prints, to clothing, to movies... you name it! Of course, this Friday there will be a Fan Friday post, and a post dedicated to the HP premiere. :)

Are you going to see Harry Potter at midnight? Is there any other franchise you're a big fan of?

Developing Something Entirely New

Being an avid doodler/illustrator-wannabe, I'm always ready to create new and exciting things. When I was younger and starting high school, I was always coming up with crazy new ideas for stories. Most of them never got past the planning stages, but one or two developed plots have stuck around in my head for a long time. I haven't really created anything new for a year or so, and I haven't been planning to.

Recently, I had been having a bit of an art block. I was perusing the internet out of boredom, and I came across some inspiring artists. So, I found myself a paper and pencil and got to work. These were the result.

Mostly some portraits of friends. (As you can see, I gave Amanda a cute Dia de los Muertos face!) A friend was mocking my art on facebook, resulting in me deciding to overly-animefy her and her boyfriend in the bottom left corner just for fun revenge. I'm pretty sure the Japanese is right... I've studied it for four years and I'm just going off what I know!

The face of Awkward Royalty... yours truly. And my king. :) Haha. Tom wore this cool outfit that day and I just had to draw it!! Then, I couldn't figure out what to do with his arms...and this thing happened. (What's going on here, anyway...?) It's probably one of the best things I've drawn to date. (That's a little sad, actually... haha)

Anyway, that little doodle inspired me to develop a new story. When it hit me, I was kind of shocked since I haven't had any decent ideas in a long time. It's still in the plotting stages, but I think I have a pretty good thing going!! Working on something new always makes me really happy. :)

What I Wore

I really didn't have to dress up today, but I wore this same outfit the other day when I went out . It's just the cutest Summer outfit and I couldn't resist wearing it out again, even if it was just to go to the bank or get some ice cream! Not to mention I got my hair to do a cute mini-pompadour for the first time, so I was pretty stoked.

Details.... Sunglasses are a must in the Summer, even here in the west coast!

I really really love wearing things on my wrists. Without them, I feel rather naked... xD

Some shots of the back. The last one is my favorite. :)

Bow: Claire's
Shirt: Pac-sun
Belt: Thrifted from Deseret Industries
Shorts: Hand-me-down
Boots: Hand-me-down
Bracelets: Handmade and Hot Topic
Necklace: Thrifted from Bargain World

OTHER
I saw the craziest thing on the road today!! It always worries me when I'm driving near people who are texting on their cell phone (though I plead guilty for texting at stoplights).
Around noon, I was driving down the road with my littlest sister and my mother and I looked over at the lady in the lane next to us. She was probably nearing 50... and she was curling her eyelashes as she was going 40 down a main road. I wish I had snapped a picture because I just couldn't believe it! There she was, eyes closed and no hands on the wheel... just driving. Not to mention if she got in an accident the eyelash curler has the potential to take her eyelid straight off!! I'm not going to judge, but NO ONE needs to do that while driving. Wait until you reach a stop light!! It's stupid to risk your life and the lives of others for the sake of beauty... sheesh!!
