Tattoo on the Brain

I love tattoos. They can be gorgeous works of body art. I can't necessarily say I'll be getting any soon, but I like to think about what I might one day get inked

They'll all be on my left side, as I've made a bit of an oath to keep half of my body as normal as possible.

1. Tiny black cross just above my palm as a reminder of my roots. I feel better about 'sinning' when I'm wearing a cross because I remember that I am always forgiven (by spirits and by people in my life). I'm not a religious person, and I don't believe in organized religion, but it's a nice thought. (and I'm sure my mother wouldn't object)

2. Dark Mark tattoo on my fore-arm, maybe in white ink. For the same reason anyone gets a Harry Potter tattoo. Not to mention I've always kind of personally stood with the dark side.

3. Quarter sleeve. Not sure of what yet, but a quarter sleeve would be nice.... Probably cherry blossoms, or birds, or something geeky.  I want it to look like watercolors....

4. Princess cameo with roses on thigh. This one is really specific in my head, so it's a little hard to explain without proper visuals. It's essentially a reminder that everyone dies, but also a reminder to me to always try and act like a princess. I love princess-like female characters in stories, and I'd love to be like them, though in reality I'm pretty crude and tough. I have to be to stand up for myself and make good arguments. I don't want to change myself, I just want to be sweet every now and then. :)

5. A cute owl tattoo in honor of my sister. Don't know where yet. Owls are her favorite, and The Labyrinth is her favorite movie, in which David Bowie has a barn owl form. It's just perfect for her. I might I'll probably get another for my littlest sister when she's more mature and I know what I can 'connect' her to. Haha

6. Kamina's glasses from Gurren Lagann, one of my all-time favorite anime. It gives me such a wonderful feeling. Just to remind me to believe in myself. Really tiny and behind my ear. The size of Hayley William's warped tour tattoo!

7. A couple stars. My name means star. It's kind of been one of my personal 'mascots'. Probably on my hip or shoulder area.

8. Poke'ball!! A childhood reminder. Poke'mon is kind of one of the things that made me into who I am today. It opened a lot of doors for me. Maybe I'll have it open with flowers pouring out or something. haha. :) These tiny ones are so cute!! Or maybe I'll just get Poke'ball gauges.

9. The words 'euphoria' or 'infinite euphoria' on the side of my chest or right underneath my left breast. A reminder to be eternally optimistic. They're two of my favorite words and they go together perfectly.

Just something fun I wanted to share since I don't have much to blog about. :) Two weeks until Tom visits!! How exciting.

(What We Wore) Zoe and I are Fashionistas

It's true. Zoe and I look good every day. We try, at the very least. Zoe sure has been helping out a lot with her photography lately. We were in a hurry to get to class, but luckily our bus came early! Unluckily, that didn't give us much time to take pictures... We decided that it would be fun to do a quick shoot ON the bus instead.

Zoe

Cute, right? I don't know where she got everything, but I know that the poncho and the awesome two-toned tights are from American Apparel. :)

Sweater: Thrifted
Skirt: Thrifted
Tights: Macy's
Boots: n/a
Earrings: Hot Topic

I went thrifting yesterday and bought myself some absolutely amazing sweaters. This is indeed one of them. I'm wearing a ton of make-up (and fake lashes!) because I did a mini-photoshoot this morning for class. It looked good enough to wear through the day of school and grocery shopping, but it's relaxing time now!!

What I Wore: Bargain Hunting

More like bargain fashion hunting!! Zoe and I were told about the Urban Outfitters Outlet nearby, and we just had to go!! The Outlet is (I believe) where U.O. stores in the area send all the things on sale at the end of the season that they weren't able to sell in stores. Therefore, everything is sold at an amazing price considering how pricy things get at regular Urban stores. (Usually $5-$20, but some things are around $40)

In that bag are all my new clothes... :)

I highly recommend shopping there, even if the clothes are 'out of season.' The only downside is that I was looking for sweaters and whatnot, but they were only selling Summer clothes. I still found a nice flannel, a scarf, and a long skirt to last me the Winter, though! I also bought a couple t-shirts, and the total for everything came out to $36, which for U.O. clothes is really a bargain!! (Sponsered by mom. Thank you!!)

Everything will definitely be included in What I Wore at some point. But for now, this is what I wore to buy MORE clothes to wear.... Such is life?

Headband: Charlotte Russe
Necklace: gift
Sweater: Thrifted
Peacoat: Hand-me-down, but the brand is J. Crew
Skirt: Macy's
Sweater Tights: Macy's
Shoes: Hand-me-down
Purse: Ross

Afterwards, Zoe and I adventured a little more and got some tasty frozen yogurt at Yogen Fruz (also recommended). Then we proceeded to spend the rest of the night doing photoshoots. These are all her pictures. Going out on Friday is always loads of fun! :)
I still need to thrift for some tacky sweaters, though!! That's my goal after class on Monday.

Thanks to Zoe for all the lovely pictures. :> You can talk to her about her photography on her wordpress or her deviantart.

I went out

Just like the title says, I tried out the Chicago train system all on my own today! Usually I have someone with me, but today I really wanted to get out of the house since I was home alone. The aim was to take the train down to Belmont. I wanted go shopping at Chicago Comics and this adorable alternative store called The Alley, but I couldn't find anything in my price range... I decided to save for another time.

I had a little trouble figuring out where I was going at first. I got off at Belmont, but I didn't see Clark street, so I got back on the train and went back to Clark and Division instead. I walked a while before hopping on a bus down Clark, looking for the address of the comic shop, and I ended up where I originally got off at Belmont. So silly....
Luckily, Chicago Comics and The Alley are right next to each other! Two of my favorite kinds of stores!! Awesome.
I didn't take any pictures in the stores, since I'm really paranoid about getting yelled at for photographing merchandise.
Instead of buying stuff, I bought myself one of my all-time favorite foods: the Chipotle vegetarian burrito .

Yum.

I'm still full. haha

Not wanting the day to be over with yet, I decided to get on the orange line and get off at Roosevelt. I was going to get a couple things at Target. I don't normally shop at Target because I don't like to support them, but I didn't know where else I could get My Little Pony toys! (I needed hand sanitizer and tissues as well, but that's not as cute or exciting)

Of course I bought Rarity!! Her mane and tail are kind of crazy, so I'll be styling her later. Maybe I'll make a tutorial out of it to post! :)

Out and About

Went out with some of my friends for a class the other day. I was introduced to this absolutely amazing fabric store!! I have a feeling that it's going to make my future cosplays a bit cheaper to make. :)

Can you find my friend Molly? :) haha
