What I Wore: new times a billion

Hello there!! Well, school has picked up and of course I'm busy busy busy, as always. I have amazing classes this semester, and I'm really psyched about the practice and inspiration I'm getting. (This includes in both art AND style!) I usually end up really dolled up for my two shortest classes that start late in the day. It gives me a lot of time to get ready in the morning, so sometimes I over-do it. Y_Y

Collared shirt: thrifted
Sweater: Red Light (Seattle)
Jeggings: Pac-sun
Socks: Forever 21

(hmm. I need to find a better place to photograph myself. My room is so crowded!)

This is the other day, for instance! Okay, maybe it doesn't really seem like I tried so hard on the clothes, but I think it looks so cute! Collared shirts + sweaters = best.

Mis-matched socks! I put on shoes later, I promise.

"Esther, what's wrong with your hair?!"
Oh, that's right, I haven't showcased my new hair just yet. I spontaneously acquired a side-cut over break. My roots had grown out horribly by the time I made it back to chicago. I had some fun plans for my hair, but I ended up going with this black + rusty pink + lavender combination. I miss having color all over, but I'm really trying to grow my hair out! Yet, I got a sidecut... Don't question my methods!!! It's a work in progress. :)

DETAIL VIEW TIME!!

~Check out my ear!~

I changed out some jewelry over break and sized up my ears. I'm currently at 8G and my current goal is 00G. :) My next goals are a nose ring and a medusa piercing! <3

~Sparkly eyes!~

I've actually put a bit more pink dye on since these shots were taken.

Bluebird

My hair is blue! (Manic Panic After Midnight Blue to be exact) I decided to take a nice, long break from dying it and just dye it as dark blue as I could and let my roots grow in, dying over it all the time instead of bleaching. @_@ Growing out your hair is hard!! And I desperately need a haircut, but I have to wait until I get back to Washington... yeep!

Tom and I went back to the Art Institute today to finish up our museum adventure. In case anyone was curious, this is what I wore.

Shirt: Forever 21
Skirt: Meijer
Tights: Consignment store
Shoes: N/A
Pull-tie: Consignment store
And there's Tom, derping in the back. Good times.

Here's my blue hair and asymmetrical bangs, cut on my own!! Unfortunately, Tom is the last person you want to ask to help take pictures of you, so I'm photographing myself MySpace style here. :P Yaaay.
I did my make-up a little different as well! And I'm playing around with effects for the photos. So many new things!

So, apparently, there's a lot more people that read this blog than I actually think. :P
Please leave a comment if you've stopped by! If you've got a google account, it should be real easy to leave your thoughts down below!!

Edited Hair + Style Thoughts

I say edited because I've hardly changed it at all. Just added a couple streaks of green. My favorite color! I can't really say that it's my favorite for hair color (yet), but I love how it looks right now!

Only webcam photos for now. I do need to touch up some spots towards my scalp that got missed. I think I'll fill them in with the tiniest bit of blue. That might be cute. <3

On another note, I've been thinking a lot about my personal style recently. I don't really know what to call it, and I'd like to have a definite set of clothes in my closet, because really I'm just all over the place. I've been really into punk, pin-up, and nu-goth recently, but I don't think I'll ever get over my need to be princess-y and cute, either. Victorian Goth-Loli would be my ideal style-set, I think, but I don't have the funds to harbor that lifestyle right now. :'(

I've been really in-tune to figuring out peoples' styles, what's thrifted, and what is expensive... etc. I'm doing a lot of observing and studying. I find a lot of things that cater to my personal preferences on tumblr...

((Kerli will always be one of my huge inspirations. haha))

Skirts, sunglasses, and colored hair will always be in my style, no matter what anyone says. That's for sure. Just more recently, I've developed an interest in leather boots, gloves, and studded jackets.  Not sure why, but I've kind of always been a closet goth.

What's your style like? Who are your inspirations?

New Hair! New Outfit!

Over the weekend I finally decided to change up my hair because the roots were starting to get crazy.

(ew.)

I trimmed my bangs and my ends at the start of the week, and performed some hardcore conditioning treatments all week because I had decided to go WHITE!

So first off was the bleaching session. I accidentally ended up letting it sit for over an hour!! @_@ Don't do that, kids. The purple was really holding on! This is what it looked like after I washed the bleach out.

(my goodness.)

Ugly, isn't it? haha. Luckily, I have this little buddy to whip my hair into shape!

Manic Panic Virgin Snow toner to get your hair into white shades. It's a work in progress, and I bought some developer today to make my hair even whiter, but after letting the Virgin Snow work its magic for a couple of hours, I ended up with hair like this:

As you can see, it's not completely white just yet. (Some spots more than others. There's even still some light blue in there) I have to work with the remaining toner and add the new developer. Then I'm going to be doing lots of olive oil treatments and conditioning so get rid of that 'just fried by bleach' look. :>

In other news, I stopped by Forever 21 and picked out a cute outfit today after school. I've been craving a long skirt, and luckily I was able to squeeze into a super cute size small.

Shirt: $6.60
Skirt: $22

Both the shirt and skirt are from Forever 21. :) New favorite outfit? I think so.

What I Wore: August 2

Esther, your hair changed again!!
...Just kidding! It's a wig. My mother bought it for me because she's not a huge fan of my purple hair... Haha! Oh well. The bangs are a little funny here because I didn't have time to trim them. @_@ I fixed them this afternoon and it's much better. You'll probably see later on.

I've been looking for a necktie like that for AGES. I'm so glad I finally found one. I'm so happy to have found the dance-style shoes as well! I've been having a lot of good luck finding items lately.

Hat: Thrifted from Urban XChange in Tacoma
Shirt: Hand-me-down
Skirt: Thrifted from Goodwill
Cardigan: Thrifted from Deseret Industries (the brand is Banana Republic)
Neckie and Tights: Small consignment store near The Commons mall
Shoes: Sears

Bird of Paradise Hair!

Tom's father got married this past weekend, and I re-dyed my hair for the occasion!! The pink was fading so I figured it was time to try out something new.

Purple to pink!!

My ear was still a little purple-tinted...

New hair and new camera!!
I took these pictures on our way to and from the wedding with my brand new camera!! (A Fujifilm s4000, if anyone is interested). It was so far North that we were almost up in B.C., where they were celebrating B.C. day! We got to see some fireworks over the water at nighttime.

The wedding was so much fun, and the location was simply beautiful!! I will definitely be blogging about it when I get the chance this week! It will be a long post, I'm sure. Lots of cute outfits AND fun wedding ideas! Not to mention you'll get to see more of my hair and my style. :)

What I Wore

I really didn't have to dress up today, but I wore this same outfit the other day when I went out . It's just the cutest Summer outfit and I couldn't resist wearing it out again, even if it was just to go to the bank or get some ice cream! Not to mention I got my hair to do a cute mini-pompadour for the first time, so I was pretty stoked.

Details.... Sunglasses are a must in the Summer, even here in the west coast!

I really really love wearing things on my wrists. Without them, I feel rather naked... xD

Some shots of the back. The last one is my favorite. :)

Bow: Claire's
Shirt: Pac-sun
Belt: Thrifted from Deseret Industries
Shorts: Hand-me-down
Boots: Hand-me-down
Bracelets: Handmade and Hot Topic
Necklace: Thrifted from Bargain World

OTHER
I saw the craziest thing on the road today!! It always worries me when I'm driving near people who are texting on their cell phone (though I plead guilty for texting at stoplights).
Around noon, I was driving down the road with my littlest sister and my mother and I looked over at the lady in the lane next to us. She was probably nearing 50... and she was curling her eyelashes as she was going 40 down a main road. I wish I had snapped a picture because I just couldn't believe it! There she was, eyes closed and no hands on the wheel... just driving. Not to mention if she got in an accident the eyelash curler has the potential to take her eyelid straight off!! I'm not going to judge, but NO ONE needs to do that while driving. Wait until you reach a stop light!! It's stupid to risk your life and the lives of others for the sake of beauty... sheesh!!
